Prof. Dr. Fan Yongkai
Biography
Professor of computer science and cybersecurity at Communication University of China, and a doctoral supervisor under the university’s “Double First-Class” discipline. Researcher at the State Key Laboratory of Media Convergence and Communication and Principal Investigator of its Data Security Laboratory. Holds B.Eng., M.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees in engineering from Jilin University. Previously on the faculty of Tsinghua University; former visiting scholar at Lehigh University and Pennsylvania State University (USA); collaborative researcher at the SoS Laboratory, Penn State; and guest professor at the University of Electro-Communications (UEC), Japan.
Research output: more than 40 papers published as first or corresponding author in the last four years. 16 vertical and horizontal research projects as principal investigator, including the National Key R&D Program (sub-topic), a State Key Laboratory special project and the Beijing Municipal Natural Science Foundation (General Program). Recipient of the Beijing Young Talent award and CUC’s Young Top-notch Talent title.
Research Interests
Data Security – full data-lifecycle security: privacy-preserving computation, AI algorithm security, federated-learning security, blockchain, AI interpretability.
Content Security – authenticity and security of text, image, audio, video and multimodal content.
Communication Security – memetic propagation within individuals and groups, secure propagation networks, controllability of propagation evolution.
Cognitive Security – security origins of cognition, comprehensive-security strategy and cognitive-security simulation.
